Rug Hooking Kit - Butterfly

Rug hooking is an easy and relaxing craft that uses 100% wool fabric strips that are woven through a fabric foundation. Each kit includes written instructions and also a link to a series of videos that explain rug hooking techniques and other useful information.

This kit was specific designed with kids in mind! This original design features a simplified drawing of a seagull that is perfect for kids (or adults) aged 7 and up.

Each kit comes with:

• one hand drawn pattern on monks cloth (with, at least, a 4 inch border)
• one wooden rug hook
• rug binding
• enough hand dyed wool strips to finish the project.
• one color photo, color key, and instructions on how to complete the rug

A rug of this size can be completed using a quilting hoop (roughly 8 to 10 inches) which can be found at most big box stores.

Loop by Loop Studio was founded by Hayley Perry in 2013. Hayley grew up surrounded by rug hooking, thanks to her mother Sharon and aunt Deanne, but did not begin making her own rugs and designs until many years later. Hayley holds her education in Fine Arts and after getting her graduate degree in painting in 2011, she started dyeing and selling fabric online, hooking rugs, and making kits, which has blossomed into her full time career. One of Hayley's goals is to help rug hooking reach a broader audience because she understands the benefits of slowing down in this whirly world. She believes that valuable lessons lay within this kind of handiwork and encourages anyone who needs a moment of reflection to try out this easy and relaxing craft.
