Kids will paint their own terracotta pot to be used for flowers or plants at home.

This fun, hands-on workshop encourages creativity, builds fine motor skills, and lets every child take home their own unique painted masterpiece.

Parents/caregivers are welcome to hang out with us for the workshop, or drop off your child and enjoy some time to yourself.

This workshop is ideal for kids aged 4+ but all are welcome.

About your instructor: 
Michaela Flatley is a local artist, designer, mother, and owner of The Local Hand.  A lifelong painter, her work centers on the motif of the grid.  She draws inspiration from traditionally craft-based forms such as quilting, weaving, embroidery, and mosaics -- mediums historically marginalized due to their associations with femininity and domestic labor.  In addition to her artwork and her business, Michaela is a committed community organizer and currently serves as Board President of Greater Ashmont Main Street.

Workshop tickets are non-refundable, because we purchase all supplies ahead of time based on headcount. If you cannot make it, consider sending a friend in your place! In the event that a workshop is canceled due to instructor illness, inclement weather, low enrollment, or other unforeseen circumstances, we will notify all participants via email as soon as possible and issue a full refund.
