This workshop focus to inspire participants to create their own interpretations of Corita Kent's iconic Rainbow Swash using waste materials from mass production. Through this hands-on art project, participants will explore themes of sustainability, creativity, and social justice.
The focus of this workshop will be on Corita Kent's Rainbow Swash, a landmark 140-foot tall design painted on an LNG storage tank in Dorchester, MA. Participants will learn about the history and significance of this work while using reclaimed paper from local printing company waste to create their own miniature versions of the tank.

About your Instructor: Liliana Marquez has been a vibrant part of the Boston, MA community since 1998. Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Liliana was immersed in a rich cultural environment by her mother, fostering a love for art, music, dance, literature, film, photography, sculpture, and painting. This diverse upbringing profoundly influenced her artistic journey. A graduate of the prestigious Caracas Institute of Design, Liliana holds a BA in Art and Graphic Design. Her philosophy of art centers on the innovative use of reclaimed and surplus architectural sample materials, which she has coined "REPOP ART." Liliana is dedicated to nurturing creativity in all minds. She conducts creative workshops for all ages, encouraging participants to explore language, structure, shape, color, and their unique qualities through hands-on projects. These workshops emphasize the use of recycled architectural sample materials, inspiring all generations to see beauty in the overlooked and transform it into something extraordinary.
